Kurt Ekert
Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
As Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, Travelport, Kurt Ekert holds global responsibility for sales, customer engagement, supplier services/content and operations across approximately 170 countries.
Previously, Kurt was Chief Operating Officer at GTA, a former Travelport-owned multi-channel travel intermediary focused on hotels and travel services. In that role, Kurt led GTA's commercial and operating functions as well as all elements of its online consumer business, OctopusTravel.com. Before joining GTA, Kurt was Senior Vice President, Travelport Supplier Services, where he oversaw supplier sales, strategy and content for the Travelport Americas business and consumer groups (Galileo and Orbitz Worldwide). At Travelport, he has also held the positions of Group Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, and Chief Operating Officer, Travelport/Orbitz for Business.
Prior to joining Travelport, Kurt's experience in the travel industry included a number of senior finance roles at Continental Airlines. Before Continental, he spent four years as an active duty US Army officer.
Kurt received a BS from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a MBA from the University of South Carolina. He also serves as a Director of Passur Aerospace, Inc (symbol: PSSR).
