MASSIVEGOOD: Travelport Commits to Improving the Lives of Many

For the first time ever, Travelport, Amadeus and Sabre are joining together along with other leading representatives of the travel and tourism industry to declare their support for a new ambitious global initiative, MASSIVEGOOD. Created by the Millennium Foundation for Innovative Finance for Health, MASSIVEGOOD will allow travelers to give a voluntary ‘micro-contribution’ each time they purchase travel services. These contributions will go towards fighting HIV/AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis in developing countries.

Travelport has declared full commitment to supporting and implementing MASSIVEGOOD in our global distribution systems (GDS), Galileo and Worldspan. The contribution mechanism is expected to be made available to travel agencies using Galileo and Worldspan GDSs in the first half of 2010. At that time, passengers making travel reservations will be able to voluntarily contribute to this worthwhile cause each time they purchase a plane ticket.
